Today Police turned up on Lichfield Street, Hanley as a break in occured last night at the Salon and Jaflong Curry House last night. It is suspected as vandalism.

The other shops on the complex, Meigh's, Coachmakers Arms, Tinderbox Jewellery and Bodrum were all unaffected.

At this time, sources close to the police understand that a vandal reportedly resposible for similar acts at the Albion, the pub on the corner of Hanley market, and at Roberto's is responsible. It must be stressed that this is currently unconfirmed and the police will be conducting a full investigation into the matter.

Police have also been seen taking forensics also in the hopes that evidence can be found and used to prosecute the vandals. The police investigating the scene refuse to give comment at this time.

Police are understood to be questioning people at this time, if you know any information please do come forward.

On closer inspection, it is unclear that there will be any CCTV available in the area to capture the trouble. Given the location, there are speed cameras at the roundabout and CCTV further up at the bus station and opposite towards the Victoria Hall.

It is reasonable to assume that these attacks took place where the vandals did not know that tenants live in some of these premises. Jaflong being the exception, the other premises (Salon) do not have permanent residence. This perhaps helps to explain why the more obvious targets were not attacked.

Pictures were taken at the scene of the Salon (above), seen to be a window smashed and boarded up. Jaflong Curry House (below) is also known to be broken into - presumably through the back.
