North Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced plans to restructure.
The Chamber, which is the support network for hundreds of local businesses in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire is reorganising services to create a stronger, more member-focused organisation.
The reorganisation is expected to result in a number of redundancies for staff at the Festival Park and Stafford offices which currently employs 39 people.
Chief Executive Sara Williams explained
We, like any other business, have had to face the harsh realities of public funding cuts, and our contractors are invariably seeking a greater return for a lower investment.
However, we have taken this opportunity to focus on the core activities of the Chamber and ensure that we strengthen these areas. So members will see us continuing to represent their interests at the highest level locally, nationally and abroad; delivering excellent networking and inter-trading opportunities as well as supporting them with training and development.
To do this efficiently and cost-effectively we are restructuring and will begin consultations with affected members of staff today. We anticipate that up to nine posts will become redundant ““ some full-time and some part-time.
We will be working with our employees to redefine their roles and will, of course, support our staff in every way possible through this difficult time.
