We are but a few weeks away from knowing who gets to lead the opposition against the wave of ConDem Coalition cuts that are heading our way. I get a vote on the Labour Leadership election courtesy of my union membership and I must admit I have watched/listened/read everything put out by each of the 5 candidates.

There is no doubt that Cllr Ellie Walkers resignation from the BNP and her joining Community Voice has become a major talking point in the City of Stoke-on-Trent. I must say since breaking the news of her application to join the Community Voice group and her subsequent acceptance, I have watched the debate unfold with interest.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council has instigated a Spotlight Review on match day parking and traffic around the vicinity of the Britannia Stadium. The success enjoyed by Stoke City and their elevation to the Premiership in has exasperated the problem for residents living near by and areas that are used by fans for parking. On Friday August 6, the three Ward Councillors for Berryhill & Hanley East, Councillors Rita Dale, Adrian Knapper and John Davis presented a cheque for £5,000 to the ‘Friends of the City Farm’ support group. This was a donation from the Ward Budget towards fund raising to help improve the facilities at the farm. The support group formed in February this year with the objective to promote the city farm and raise funds to renovate the facilities.

As a member of the Licencing Committee (the committee responsible for issuing alcohol licences across the City), I was invited to visit the City Centre on Friday night with our licencing team and the police, on an observational visit.

Ed Miliband flew into The Potteries this afternoon for a question and answer session this afternoon organised by Stoke-on-Trent North Labour Party. About a hundred members turned up to listen to his views on everything from gender balance in the shadow cabinet to Cameron's diplomatic gaffe on Pakistan. But was he any good? Was he convincing?

I have been chastised on this site for being anti working class. That in itself is utter twaddle. When I was a bit younger I was a working class through and through, I loved working class culture and its ways.

The 29-year-old businessman was found to have numerous large-scale cannabis factories in the city, and was also behind a plantation in Birmingham from which 1,400 marijuana weeds were confiscated last year in a raid on a former benefits office.
