By Pits'n'Pots Reporter. MEPs and candidates staged a walkout as British National Party (BNP) leader Nick Griffin began his European election victory speech in Manchester. The BNP won 8% of North West votes, making it the fifth most supported party and returning Mr Griffin as one of the region's eight MEPs. Outside Manchester Town Hall, where votes were counted, hundreds of anti-BNP campaigners staged a protest. Mr Griffin said his party was "the most demonised and lied about" in Britain

Comment By Sir Findo Gask I'm sure it will come as no surprise to anyone here that today is European Election day.  It is one of the biggest anti climaxes since X Factor!   We all go and do our civic duty and vote then have to wait hearing nothing for 2 or 3 days, only to be told that some faceless wonder who has probably never heard of Stoke-on-Trent has been elected.  Then hear nothing from our MEPs again!

We love Britain precisely because of its tolerance and diversity. The British National party and its allies are a threat to everything that makes us proud of this country we love.

A remarkable ICM poll of election voting intentions pushed Labour into third place for the first time in almost 25 years. The Vice President of the Finnish Conservatives (Kansallinen Kokoomus) and Euro MEP Eija-Riitta Korhola’s wrote in Todayʼs times that any vote that boycotts the main National and European parties would “plays directly into the hands of extremists, neo-fascists and the non-serious”. We would vehemently disagree with this assertion, which was based upon Lord Tebbit’s comments on Tuesday which called for voters to abandon the three major political parties at the forthcoming European Electio

By Pits'n'Pots Reporter. Aware that many people have lost faith in government, and the areas of life over which it presides, last summer Sir Paul Judge started formulating the idea of a new kind of political movement: one based on the principles of good governance and transparency. The Jury Team launched on 16th March 2009 with the aim of cleaning up politics.

Contributed Post - By Geoffrey Coady Earlier this year I went to Compiegne in Picardy and visited the forest  clearing where the 1918 Armistice was signed in a railway carriage. The site is a museum and there are photographs, contemporary letters and memorabilia of the great war. A video played film footage of the war. I experienced a sense of remorse and revulsion over all those deaths of European youth.

By Pits'n'Pots Reporter. The British National Party has dismissed an appeal by senior Anglican church leaders for voters to boycott the party at next month's elections. The archbishops of Canterbury and York are urging people not to let anger over the MPs' expenses scandal drive them to vote for the party. BNP leader Nick Griffin said it was time the church grew up and began talking to them about issues. [caption id="attachment_4104" align="alignright" width="96" caption="Nick Griffin"
