Apparently the good people of Stoke on Trent are not going to be able to go to the polls next year and probably not until 2011.  I'm not going to copy the whole piece from the Sentinel, you can read it HERE, but what are your views? Why are we not starting our new system of local government with a newly elected set of councillors?  It seems to me like we are just blundering through this. Next step, Stoke on Trent will lose its autonomy and we will be governed by Staffordshire...
