A story on the British National Party website confidently claims: 'After 4 months of lobbying, badgering and protesting, the British National Party Group on Stoke on Trent City Council have been successful in getting the popular Willfield Fitness Centre in Bentilee removed from the council’s cut back list as indicated in the 2010-2011 budget'. In the article, Stoke BNP Group Leader Mike Coleman says:

Well, It's official, the BNP are prepared to let me join their party. I must rush out and get signed up...NOT! The wholeidea of forcing the BNP to accept ethnic minorities into it's ranks is just a legal technicality designed to make humiliate the BNP. For years they have had an openly racist policy regarding membership and this whole threat of injunction is jut a slap in their face.

The only time I came across the leader of the BNP was following the 2006 City Council Elections when I was helping out Jean Bowers in Birches Head. I went to the Wheatsheaf Pub in Stoke afterwards before the count with my brother. The pub was full of BNP supporters who were expecting big gains in the elections- they were to be disappointed. Sitting at a table enjoying a meal was the leader of the BNP surrounded by muscular, shaven headed men in suits. Griffin was eating a curry.

The new leader of the BNP Group in Stoke-on-Trent, Michael Coleman, has today issued the message that it is very much business as usual for his party. Coleman has been confirmed as the party’s new leader following a group meeting last week. Anthony Simmonds has been named as the groups deputy leader. Speaking to Pits’n’Pots today Mike Coleman said: 'Although I’m pleased to be the new group leader the news is somewhat tainted with disappointment with the fact that Alby Walker had to resign'.

By Mike Rawlins The BNP have launched their new look website this week at http://bnp.org.uk a nice blue looking site with the headline 'Standing Up For Great Britain' a couple of pictures of Party Leader Nick Griffin MEP and an image of Churchill for good measure. This site reminded me and several other people of another high profile campaign site we had seen recently. The campaign website of Barack Obama http://www.barackobama.com no less. Maybe the BNP web team do have a se

We can start to analyse the performance of the panel on Thursday's BBC Question Time. I thought the stand out performer was Sayeeda Warsi [Conservative] This straight talking Yorkshire woman with a proud Asian heritage was the best of the politicians on the panel.

Comment By Tony Walley. [caption id="attachment_4104" align="alignright" width="96" caption="Nick Griffin, MEP & Leader of the BNP"][/caption] As Thursday's BBC Question Time debate looms large, I have found myself wandering whether we should be giving the BNP a platform on prime time TV. The answer I keep coming to is -  damn right we should! I support the editorial stance that the BBC has taken over this issue 100%. I passionately support the principles of free speech.
