Titanic Beer - The best in the West Midlands!
A Stoke-on-Trent brewery has picked up a trio of CAMRA awards.
Burslem Based Titanic Brewery was awarded two gold’s and a silver at the CAMRA West Midlands end of year awards.
The two Gold's were for Titanic's 'Iceberg'in the specialist category and the 'Titanic Stout' in the stout category. The Silver was awarded to the Titanic 'Wreckage' in the Strong Old Ale section.
Iceberg [4.1%ABV] is a combination of Maris Otter pale malt and fine wheat malt, give this refreshing beer real zest. Add fresh tasting Yakima Galena and Cascade hops and what you get is a fantastic wheat beer that will hole any passing thirst.
Titanic Stout [4.5% ABV] is a true old fashioned stout. A dark combination of malt and roast with some hops. Strongly flavoured and well balanced.
Titanic Wreckage [7.2% ABV] this sweet malty winter ale has a port-like aroma, oranges and lemons play around the edges of the tongue whilst dried fruit and cinnamon drive home the wonderful warming effect, the walnut aftertaste completes this slice of Christmas time in a glass.
Pam Rowlands, manager of the White Star in stoke confirmed that 'Iceberg' was a massive hit with all who come into the pub on Kingsway in Stoke. She said:
"Iceberg as been very popular alongside the ale named after our pub, The White Star".
"Real ale is what we are about, we always have 6 Titanic beers and 4 guest ales at any one time. People know that they have got a real choice when they come in".
"Titanic Beers have drawn in people from all over the place. We have had visitors from as far a field as Zimbabwe. They were on a barge holiday over here and had a copy of the Good Beer Guide and decided to pay us a visit".
"We have also had beer enthusiasts from Norway, Sweden and Germany as well as CAMRA members from different town s in the UK."
Titanic also own/manage The Bulls Head in Burslem, The Greyhound in Newcastle and The Royal Exchange in Stone.
The three beers will now compete at the CAMRA 2010 Great British Beer Festival.

At 7.2%, no wounder they call it Wreckage, lord it sounds like good stuff that. Anyway, thanks for the decription Wol, its the only way I'll ever find out how good the stuff is, mores the pity. Thats what this city is good at, slinging darts and cooking up beer, so it can't be that bad.
Caring for the city and all within it.
Good to see one of the best
