A Bromptondock automated bike hire scheme, featuring the Brompton folding bicycle, has been installed at Stoke-on-Trent railway station, only the second of the schemes to be launched this year in partnership with Virgin Trains, the first being set up at Manchester Piccadilly station in March. Labour councillors in Stoke are passing on £24 million in cuts on top of last years £35.6 Million without much more than a whimper. If elected I’d be a voice in the council chamber for all those who have been affected by these cuts and want to fight back.
Stoke-on-Trent Conservatives have today confirmed that their candidate in the forthcoming Springfields and Trent Vale byelection will be local father of 3 and former soldier Harold Gregory.

As reported on Pits n Pots 2 weeks ago, Stoke-on-Trent a city self sufficient in low carbon energy?, Stoke-on-Trent City Council yesterday announced that they are one of just six authorities nationwide to make it to the second stage of the ‘Creative Councils’ programme, securing £150,000. The funding will help the council create a trail-blazing local authority power company which will help the city become self-sufficient in low carbon energy – a first under the 2011 Localism Act.
