The Olympic Torch Relay leaves Stoke-on-Trent

The Olympic Torch Relay has left Stoke-on-Trent this morning and headed off to Crewe and then on to Bolton for its next overnight stop.

Stoke-on-Trent Olympic Torch Relay finale

A spectacular aerial acrobatics show is set to close the Olympic Torch Relay celebration event in Hanley Park tomorrow.

A capacity crowd of 13,000 people are expected to watch the evening celebration hosted by Geraint Hardy.  The event will see a host of guests and stars being interviewed by Geraint as well as Welsh indie rock band Kids In Glass Houses performing. Continue reading

An Olympic Torch arrived in Stoke-on-Trent this morning ahead of the Olympic Torch Relay which arrives on Wednesday evening.

1000 extra tickets released for Stoke-on-Trent Olympic Torch Relay

Stoke-on-Trent City Council have just announced that a further 1000 tickets for the Olympic Torch Relay celebrations in Hanley Park have been released. The total number of tickets for the event is now 13,000.

The final 1000 tickets for the Olympic Torch Relay celebrations in Hanley park on 30 May are being given away on Wednesday morning. The Lord Mayor has said that he wants a full house for when the Olympic Torch arrives in Stoke-on-Trent and has made arrangements for the final tickets to be distributed from 5 locations from 9am.
